Young & Free

There was a threat of rain the whole day on Saturday, but I'm still waiting...
I had such fun shooting on Saturday with an old school friend...
Good conversation, lots of laughs and great pics. I love it when my models are free and easy going.

Tribal Belly Dance Shoot

I had the most amazing day on Saturday...
My feet were killing me by the time we were all done for the day, but it was definately worth it all.
The day started off with a Tribal Belly Dance shoot, and Lianne and I had an interesting time trying to dodge people, especially since her outfit was quite "out there".
The photographs turned out very nicely.
The next shoot was a maternity shoot with such a wonderful model who didn't mind having people staring. For some reason people find it so intruiging seeing a person with a camera. I often have people coming to quiz me about my equipment and bragging about theirs, meantime they probably don't know where the ON button is...

It was such an amazing day for shooting, the weather was perfect and I was with wonderful people. And apart from a disasterous end to the day with my camera saying goodnight... I am still very pleased with the results.

Chilanga Riding School

I had the huge privilege of meeting an Amazing Woman a year or so ago.
Chilanga Riding School for the Disabled is a Non Profit Organisation and Sally Kluth gives free riding therapy to nearly 200 disabled children weekly. Many of these children come from economically disadvantaged homes and Sally also collects and distributes food and clothing for these families.
I was approached to do the Photography for Kathy Ashwell, a Folk Guitar Teacher from Somerset West who was working on her new album, and one of her reasons for making the album was to firstly dedicate it to Chilanga, a place very close to her heart and  Sally's work in helping raise funds for their school.
In recent weeks the children who ride at the school have been under threat of losing their community centre (I refer to the article below.) For more information on Chilanga Riding School and Kathy Ashwell please visit:
http://www.chilangaschool.com/    http://www.musicmatters.co.za/charities.htm
It was an humbling experience seeing all the volenteers working with the children and the looks on the little ones faces while they were riding.

Just a few of my Favourite Images

Please visit my website for more images: http://www.fernevansphotography.co.za/

Wow! What an amazing shoot this turned out to be...
It was intended to be a shoot portraying the Hindu Goddess Kali, and ended up being even better. Emily was a fabulous Model and was comfortable being in a very cramped space. I think that Lianne also did a spectacular job with the make-up and Styling. Check out Lianne's site: www.lianne.co.za

I am such a lucky Girl to have such wonderful people to work with, and Janine is no exception. She was so at ease in front of the camera both in studio and on location. We had such fun in the old car museum on the N1.

Although a bit apprehensive at first, Melanie soon settled into the shoot quite comfortably.
We had fun dressing her up in beautiful outfits and her natural beauty shone through once she was in front of the camera.

I had so much energy with this next shoot..
Sarah was a natural in front of the camera and had some great ideas.
We spent the day driving around to some fabulous locations, even though one or two of the places were dodgy and we wished we had a muscle man with us to ward off any potential problems.
Needless to say we were fine and the photographs turned out great.
